Meet Your Coach - Ash Badcock

About Me

I'm Ash Badcock — a certified performance coach, lifelong athlete, and someone who's obsessed with finding the edge between data, mindset, and movement.

I’ve competed at the highest level of HYROX, including the 2025 HYROX World Championships in Chicago, and have taken part in Open, Pro, Mixed Doubles, and Men’s Doubles formats across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Singapore and America. Alongside racing, I’ve judged HYROX events in Brisbane and Sydney and continue to stay active in the sport both on and off the course.

Coaching Style

My coaching style is grounded in experience and supported by evidence. I focus on building high-performing lifestyle athletes — people who want to train with purpose, compete well, and stay sharp physically and mentally. I currently coach in the HYROX space and lead clients through tailored performance programs backed by smart tools, habit systems, and consistent accountability.

I’ve also held leadership roles outside of sport, including as Head of High Performance and Analytics at Melbourne University Rugby Union, where I built systems to drive player development and strategic performance.

My Qualifications

  • Certified HYROX Level 1 Coach
  • Certificate in the Science of Exercise – University of Colorado
  • Certificate in Aligning Diet and Exercise – National Academy of Sports Medicine (US)
  • Certificate III & IV in Fitness
  • Professional Development - PACKT Coaching Skills
  • Member – AUSactive, Australia’s peak body for the exercise and active health sector

Coaching Framework

I actively use the PACKT Coaching Framework to improve how I guide athletes and leaders. It helps me:

  • Apply the GROW model in performance and leadership contexts
  • Know when to coach, when to instruct, and when to let people discover for themselves
  • Challenge athletes and leaders constructively to unlock growth and critical thinking
  • Ask sharp, reflective questions that cut through the noise and drive meaningful action
